Church @Home | What to Expect
Our Church @Home model allows us to gather regularly during the month in different locations around Newberg, Oregon. Please dress casual. If you have a Bible, please bring one. If you don't have a Bible, we will have one for you. We would love to have everyone participate through sharing and/or asking questions but we know that it takes time to build trust and feel comfortable in a new setting - so don't feel pressured. You don't have to read out loud or know all the answers either. We will learn from each other.
Meals
Whenever we meet we make sure there is food! We believe sharing a meal together (usually dinner) allows us to connect on a deeper level and for us to reflect on how Jesus is saturating all aspects of our life. Many of our members are GF and DF so just let us know if you need us to make any allergy accommodations for you or your family. As families we all share responsibility for providing food and serving each other during this special time of our gathering.
Worship and Prayer
We love to sing songs that recognize the goodness and love of God. Worship is done lots of different ways each month - sometimes we have a guitar, sometimes its drums, and sometimes we listen to music and sing along. We begin each gathering praying for our time together and asking God to open our hearts and minds to what he would have us learn from his Word.
Teaching and Discussion
Our teaching and discussion time includes reading the Bible passage together, followed by a facilitated discussion and teaching. We ask questions, share experiences, and allow people to feel comfortable exploring the text and asking questions to help them understand what God is teaching us through his word.
Prayer
After we are done exploring God's word together we break into groups based on gender and share specific prayer requests for the week. Each person shares a request while someone else agrees to pray for that person throughout the week.
Childcare
We do provide childcare for ages 10 and under. Older children are encouraged to actively participate in the teaching and discussion time with adults.
